Video: Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Sigma 18-35 f/1.8

Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM is the first constant F1.8 SLR zoom lens to hit the market. The performance and the price ($799) of the lens are excellent. The new lens scored a total of 25 on its DXOMark exam, that score beats out the Canon 24-70mm f2.8L II USM and Tamron 24-70 2.8 VC, both of which are top of the line full frame lenses. Many filmmakers were waiting for a test footage from the combination Blackmagic Cinema Camera + Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens. In this post we can see Aaron Nanto’s sample footage.

Sigma is rocking the photographic and videography world with the new F1.8 18-35mm HSM Art Lens – rated higher than even the best Canon, Zeiss or Nikon prime lens on the market! I take it out for a spin on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, with motion control by the Kessler CineDrive 4-Axis (dolly, pan, tilt, focus) system.

Will this lens work with the BMCC 4k (when it finally ships)?

    • Nikola Ovcharski

Yes, the lens is designed for APS-C sensors and BMPC 4K has one.
